PipeHawk II Basic Training
 

The Basic Training Course is the entry level course for the PipeHawk II training program and is designed for operators new to the PipeHawk II product or those requiring a foundation in the theory and effective application of the underlying technology.

 
Course Content:
 

Unit 1 - Radar Theory

  • A basic understanding of the principles of RADAR.
  • An overview on the production of useful information, based on the measured creation, collection and interpretation of radar data.
  • The physical and technical restrictions on using both the PipeHawk II and radar detection in general.
Unit 2 - Equipment & Maintenance
  • Constituent parts of a standard Pipehawk system & associated accessories.
  • Safe moving, lifting & handling.
  • Batteries - Use, connection, storage, charging, testing and life expectancy.
  • Wheels & tyres – Removal & fitting, tyre pressures.
  • Antenna – Connection, removal and fitting.
  • Sacrificial membrane – Use, condition, life expectancy, removal and fitting.
  • Handle adjustment.
  • Drive belt – Adjustment, removal and fitting.
Unit 3 - Menu System Overview
  • Main menu
  • Setup menu
  • Modem menu
  • Status menu
  • Data collection menu
  • Data review menu
  • Data transfer menu
  • Power down menu
Unit 4 - Data Collection
  • Site safety -Best practice.
  • Pre site safety checks - Battery level, signal generation, flat lining.
  • Site designation - File naming convention.
  • Starting, stopping and pausing scans.
  • The 3 metre Scan box - Forward and reverse.
  • Using Pull Backs and the measured marker.
Unit 5 - Onboard Data Processing
  • Data selection - Individual and on-block.
  • Processing options - ID modes and data mapping.
  • Printing results - Connection & printing direct from the PipeHawk.
Unit 6 - Remote Data Processing
  • PipeHawk to PC connection - Establishing a data link.
  • Data selection - Connection, destination, selection, download and confirmation.
  • Processing and printing results.
  • Housekeeping and data removal.
Unit 7 - Data Interpretation
  • Data collation.
  • Reading the data prints.
  • Using a control sheet.
  • Marking out the results.
 
Course Pricing

The PipeHawk II Basic Training Course is offered at £1350 per person for a three-day course for up to two persons, or £1200 per person for a four-day course for three to four persons. Prices are exclusive of VAT.

PipeHawk II Advanced Training
 

The Advanced Training Course is designed for operators having a minimum of three months practical experience in using the PipeHawk II product. Applicants must have successfully completed the PipeHawk II Basic Training Course.

 
Course Content:
 

Unit 1 - Candidate Assessment

  • A review of the procedures and standards set by the PipeHawk II Basic Training Course.
  • Candidate assessment against the PipeHawk II Basic Training Course standard.
Unit 2 - Advanced Survey Techniques
  • Large linear sites.
  • Large area sites.
  • Single service tracking.
  • Handling congested services.
  • Location of voids and other anomalies.
Unit 3 - Advanced Data Manipulation
  • Depth referencing.
  • Data re-profiling.
  • Using data carpets.
 
Course Pricing

The PipeHawk II Advanced Training Course is offered at £900 per person for a three-day course for up to eight persons. Price is exclusive of VAT.
